Ideas for Left Action –
For People and Planet
This follows our 2022 ‘Activists Guide’, published as a SEARCH contribution to Left discussions leading up to the May 2022 federal election. Ideas for Left Action provides an updated contribution to some key policy debates in the current national and global context, with many of the issues of early last year even more stark and pressing.
As I say in my introductory note:
We wanted to create a resource for left-wing activists to be better informed and better equipped to engage in the struggle outside their own particular field…
It aims to help us stand together across different movements and political parties, across generations and backgrounds. I hope you find it useful and that you’ll read it, comment on it, discuss it and pass it on to a budding activist or stalwart comrade to get their thoughts.
We also want this publication, alongside other contributions, to spark discussion ahead of and at our National Members Forum on 20 and 21 April 2024, and at the pre-meeting to be held on Thursday 8 February - click here to register for that online meeting.
Ideas for Left Action is the culmination of work by many members and supporters, reflecting considerable research and years of activist experience. I want to thank all our contributors and particularly our Communications Subcommittee members and Howard Guille, who has been the driving force behind both this and our 2022 Activists Guide.
