Alison Pennington is Senior Economist with the Centre for Future Work, a public commentator and writer. She conducts research on economic issues facing working people including the evolution of collective bargaining and the role of government. Alison completed a Master of Political Economy from the University of Sydney where her research focus was on the Australian finance system, housing and inequality. Alison has written for the Centre for Future Work on the evolution of collective bargaining, future skills, and labour market policies. In previous roles she worked as a union organiser in the CPSU, public finance and foreign affairs policy for the Commonwealth government, and as a public school music teacher. She considers economics a powerful tool for reinvigorating ideas about how society is organised, and for building a more democratic and meaningful life for everyday people.

Paul Dutton is a Barkindji man, an activist and commentator, a Stolen Generations member, with long experience in NGOs and the public sector in housing and community development, including Link-Up (NSW) where he assisted and counselled other Stolen Generation individuals on returning to Country and community, as well as those communities on expectations of return and realities of separation, cultural loss and emotional divides and understanding of living in two worlds.. Shannen Potter is a SEARCH and labour movement activist and member of the ALP national conference. She is the author of recent Jacobin article arguing for a COVID elimination strategy (link in chat). Currently the Junior Vice President for Labor for Refugees and a Policy Convener for the NSW ALP Socialist Left, Shannen is an active organiser in campaigns for the rights of workers, refugees and migrants, women, and young people, including an ongoing campaign calling for an end to the use of boat turn backs and offshore detention for asylum seekers. She is also a founding member of the campaign ‘Lockdown to Zero: Health Before Profits’ which advocates for a class-based approach to the pandemic which puts working people first. Shannen formerly worked in policy development and is currently completing a Juris Doctor degree.

Teela Reid is a proud Wiradjuri and Wailwan woman, lawyer and activist born and raised in Gilgandra western NSW. She is currently a defence lawyer based in Sydney. Teela obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Newcastle and commenced her professional career as a high school PE teacher. She then completed her postgraduate Juris Doctor/Law from UNSW Law Sydney and was named on the UNSW Law Deans Women of Excellence List. Teela was the first Aboriginal person to be elected on the UNSW Law Society as Vice-President (Social Justice), where she was the founding director of the UNSW Law First Peoples Moot. She was also the Inaugural recipient of the NSW Indigenous Barristers Trust award.
