SEARCH Foundation Submission to IPAN People’s Inquiry

The SEARCH Foundation -

• notes that Kashmir is a disputed territory;
• supports the right of Kashmiris to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions; and
• recognises that there is a vital role for the Australian government in resolving the Kashmir conflict. 
• Urges the Labor opposition, Coalition and Greens to call on the Indian government to withdraw from Kashmir.

 
The SEARCH Committee joins all other progressive Australians in condemning the disgraceful position adopted by Prime Minister Morrison at the Pacific Islands Forum over the critical issue of climate change. Tuvalu’s prime minister, Enele Sopoaga, put it well: you are concerned about your economy; we are concerned for our people.
