Senator Anne Urquhart is inviting you to a virtual town hall meeting.
Time: 3.00pm
Date: Saturday, 18 February
Location: Online
You can RSVP here. You will be able to join the meeting from wherever you are via your computer, laptop, or other mobile devices.
This year, we will all have the opportunity to vote in a referendum to decide whether Australia will have an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to parliament.
This is a big moment for our country.
To better understand what’s at stake, Senator Urquhart will be joined by Senator for the Northern Territory and Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians, Malarndirri McCarthy, and Thomas Mayo, the author of the book Finding the Heart of the Nation – the Journey of the Uluru Statement towards Voice, Treaty and Truth.
The virtual town hall aims to focus on what the Voice is, what it is not, and why it matters.
Using a recently developed interactive, online platform, you will be able to engage with speakers in real time, ask questions and express your thoughts on the Voice.
The town hall meeting is part of a week of activity that aims to ensure that you are armed with the information you need to vote on the Voice.
I encourage you to join us on this journey and be part of history by attending our virtual town hall meeting."
